Battery Management System (BMS)

The brain of the battery

In every off-highway battery pack, the Battery Management System (BMS) is the core of safety, reliability and performance. It monitors cells, manages charge and discharge, balances modules, protects against faults and communicates with the machine.

A high-quality BMS is non-negotiable, especially for heavy-duty environments. Therefor our BMS is certified with functional safety level up to SIL2 (PLd).

Choosing the right communication architecture

Your BMS must integrate seamlessly with your machine’s ECU.
We support common protocols such as CAN, CANopen, J1939 and custom message sets.
Depending on your machine’s architecture, we help define which communication strategy ensures safe control, accurate data transfer and stable machine behaviour.

Optimising lifetime and performance

The BMS determines how efficiently the battery operates.
Smart balancing, intelligent thermal control and precise SOC/SOH calculation extend battery life and ensure stable performance throughout the machine’s lifecycle.

Safety layers and protection features

Our BMS includes multiple safety layers:

  • cell voltage and temperature monitoring
  • isolation monitoring
  • short-circuit protection
  • charge/discharge supervision
  • emergency shutdown
  • redundancy options

These protect the battery, the machine and the operator, even under extreme conditions.
