Temperature affects everything: capacity, longevity, power output and safety. Off-highway machines often face extreme heat, long working cycles or sub-zero environments, making thermal management essential.

Intercel offers three thermal concepts, each optimised for specific conditions.

Option 1: No thermal system

For machines with low thermal load or mild climates, a pack without active thermal control is a simple and cost-effective solution. Suitable for low-power applications or environments with stable temperatures.

Heating mats: for cold climates

✓ Optimal operating temperature in freezing conditions
✓ Reliable charging

Heating mats ensure the battery reaches optimal operating temperature quickly, even when stored outdoors or used in freezing conditions. This improves performance, prevents damage and ensures reliable charging.

Liquid-cooled thermal management

✓ Always a stable cell temperature
✓ Ideal for heavy-duty use

Our most advanced option: a liquid-cooled (and optionally heated) thermal baseplate under the battery pack. This stabilises cell temperature during heavy-duty use, prevents overheating and enables high charging currents.

Liquid cooling is ideal for:

  • High-voltage battery packs

  • Equipment with high continuous loads
  • Fast-charging systems
