Power for Plug-in Hybrid Trains

Power for Plug-in Hybrid Trains

Designed and built to power up plug-in hybrid trains, the battery pack delivers an impressive 691V and 600Ah (415 kWh) capacity. Its liquid thermal management system ensures optimal performance, maintaining efficiency even during demanding train journeys. The integration with Danfoss Drive Controllers guarantees synchronized and optimized propulsion, enhancing overall energy efficiency.

Challenge

Unlocking sufficient battery power for hybrid trains that operate on diesel as well as electricity requires seamless synchronization with the Danfoss Drives. These drives allow traindrivers to vary the speed of the electric motor, which results in energy savings and improved control. Designed to handle peak demands in public service, the battery system needed to be equipped with a liquid thermal management system to keep the battery in the best condition to perform.
